Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Power-Pole the first shallow water anchor?Yes. Power-Pole was first released in 1999 by John Oliverio, founder of JL Marine Systems, Inc. Since then Power-Pole has been revising and perfecting their products to make them the best shallow water anchor in the market to this day.
- Why should I get two Power-Pole anchors?Dual Power-Pole anchors will keep the bow of your boat from moving. Whereas, a boat with a single Power-Pole anchor will be affected by wind and current, and will pivot on the one anchor. Dual anchors is like fishing on a dock - your boat doesn't move!
- I have a spot lock trolling motor. Why should I get a Power-Pole?While spot lock trolling motors are nice, they still make noise, disrupt the water, and use battery power. Once your boat is anchored with a Power-Pole it is locked in position. It doesn't require extra battery power and doesn't continue to make noise to hold your position.
- Does Power-Pole have Drive-Off-Protection™?Yes. If you accidentally start driving your boat with your Power-Pole anchors deployed, the hydraulic system's pressure release valve will function to prevent damage to your boat's transom or to the anchor itself.
- Does Power-Pole have Active Anchoring?Great question. Power-Pole wants anglers to have "Total Boat Control" so allowing the anchor to essentially act on its own eliminates that. If you are in rough enough conditions for the anchor to "lose grip" then it will need to be redeployed in a sense. There is not a feature on the Power-Pole that will deploy or retract the anchor without the anglers decision, because if they are site fishing, then the sound of the anchor activating could ruin their chances! Although the Power-Pole is quiet, any noise could ruin your chances on a trophy fish!
- What is a Power-Pole Raptor? When the patent for the Power-Pole hydraulic anchor design expired after 20 years of production, Minn Kota came out with a similar anchor that resembled the design of the Power-Pole Blade. The Raptor is an alternative shallow water anchor manufactured by Minn Kota, not Power-Pole.
- Are you an authorized Power-Pole dealer?Yes. We have been acknowledged by Power-Pole as being a "Top 100 Authorized Power-Pole Dealer" every year since 2016. You can read our reviews on Google, and you can click here to see Xtreme Boat, Inc listed on Power-Pole's website.
